Lieutenant Commander Storm is the only survivor of an experiment the Denobulans came up with for the Empire; to make a Human/ Ki'Taran hybrid; a genetically enhanced being.

They succeeded with Briana; she has a general humanoid appearance with some Ki'Taran traits; eyes, ears, fangs, retractable claws, and tail. Her Ki'Taran abilities have given her increased strength, speed, flexibility, and stamina.

The more important aspects however are her Psionic abilities; she is currently rated as a P8+, a level 8 with the potential to increase with training.  Lieutenant Commander Storm has good control over her Psionic abilities-being able to shield most outside noise, as well as shield a few others- for covert missions. She has an issue with distance, however can reach distances normally out of reach- dependent on the circumstances, and her will-power. Adrenaline levels increase and thus when the situation has been resolved, she may collapse from exhaustion. Lieutenant Commander Storm's Psionic abilities will continue to grow if she wants them too, as well as a partner who wants to help assist. Ki'Taran mates reinforce each others abilities. Since Lieutenant Commander Storm is half-human, a human mate could assist her; it involves a series of meditation and focusing activities. Lieutenant Commander Storm has been ordered not to scan Terrans within the Empire unless given a direct order from a superior officer.

Lieutenant Commander Storm is a very intelligent individual with a knack for computer programming which can be a benefit if she is allowed to do so freely; however she has been known to utilize her abilities for her own reasons. She also enjoys designing and building all types of gadgets: weapons, PADD's, and engines. Most of Ki'Taran society was extremely productive for the good of the whole. She seems to have ‘inherited' that quality.

Lieutenant Commander Storm is a strong-willed individual and the Denobulans ‘fixed' that by purposefully addicting her to caffeine. If she is under a great deal of stress or using her abilities for an extended amount of time; then she will require more caffeine. She requires a minimum of 48 ounces of caffeine a day. She usually has an emergency hypo if she has not disregarded any orders- the hypo holds 8 ounces. She can have caffeine in any form; the shots, liquid, and food. She prefers coffee and chocolate, however has started adding tea to the mix.

Lieutenant Commander Storm's will power when utilizing her abilities is also tempered by her sense of duty to the Empire. She affiliates with those that share that dedication and attempts to ‘correct' the attitudes of those that do not.

Lieutenant Commander Storm has a sense of humor- "oh look a mouse...", and plays at being stupid-a tactical move on her part. She likes to use her Ki'Taran flexibility in training sessions-stalking and pouncing. She has been training some of the MACOs as well in this technique. She also instructs them in the Ki'Taran martial arts including: sword/staff, Ki'Blox- a form of kickboxing, increasing stamina, and how to become invisible. *Note: the technique of invisibility is not literally going invisible- yet a way to blend in with the surrounding area- it is a covert technique that has served her well.

Lieutenant Commander Storm likes to be sociable; however she also needs some time by herself. Her abilities do require some quiet reflection and/or with her partner.  The Empire has found someone that would likely enhance Lieutenant Storm's abilities; she will be assigned to the ISS Enterprise under Captain Maximillian  Forrest and allowed to fraternize with a Terran.

Recently Lieutenant Commander Storm was able to retrieve some tactical data that should enhance the Empire's defensive systems- if these upgrades work, there might be a promotion for her.
